A number of historic mines are located in Southeastern Wyoming in an area called the Silver Crown Mining District. The Copper King Mine was developed in 1881 by the Adams Copper Mining and Reduction Company, and in 2016, U.S. Gold Corp acquired 100% of the mineral lease to the property. While major mining operations ceased just prior to World War II, mineable quantities of gold, copper, and other metals remain in the area.

The CK Gold Project would be an open-pit mine, employing froth flotation to extract the valuable minerals. About five semi-trucks per day of copper and gold rich concentrate would be shipped to existing, offsite facilities for final processing. While cyanide heap leaching is safely utilized in gold mining, the current CK Gold Project plan uses froth flotation to extract the target minerals. This process does not utilize any cyanide. The ore mining process will be similar to the rock quarries in the area.

“Communication and community outreach is a critical component of the CK Gold Project,” George Bee, President and CEO of U.S. Gold Corp. “In the first half of 2021 we’ve held over 40 meetings with over 120 stakeholders in Cheyenne and Laramie and I’m encouraged by the initial support for the project. As a part of our outreach efforts, we’ve joined industry organizations and opened an office in Cheyenne.  We want to provide a local presence and a physical location where interested parties can learn more about the project.”
